Holi Color, Paris
Holi Color, Paris, France, May 2023
Back to India, while staying in France with the "Holi Color" party.
Holi, sometimes called the festival of colors or Phalguna, is a Hindu festival originating from India celebrated around the spring equinox...
In the night of the first day of the festival, a fire is lit to commemorate the cremation of Holika, a demoness burned by Vishnu.
On the second day, known as Rangapanchami, people, dressed in white, circulate with colored pigments which they throw at each other, there is then customary to apologize, after having sacrificed to the colored rite, by "Bura na mano, HolĂ® hai" ("Don't be mad, it's Holi" in Hindi).
The dances were really beautiful. Suffering too much from my back, I couldn't stay to attend the color jet but I still managed to get some pictures by someone from the Wezeem group. Thanks to her.
