For once, I had taken my tripod to take photos of the sky and stars. I forgot to check the remote shutter battery for the camera and have a stable device. I was angry. And that anger kept me from remembering that I could use the motion-avoiding self-timer.
The discovery of the desert was a bit tumultuous, in the back of a pick-up, but it remains an excellent memory.
