From Guangzhou to Beijing, China, January 2025
China is a vast country. Overhead lines are the most widely used means of transport. The train also remains an alternative...
It runs day and night, because, despite the travel times, the price remains more affordable. I love taking the preferred means of transport in a country. To go from Guangzhou to Beijing, I preferred the daytime train to see a bit of scenery during the 8-hour trip.
I had the choice between 2nd Class, not comfortable enough for this long journey. I didn't like the Business Class because it was mainly used by privileged families and tourists, which I avoid. Also, it's not my lifestyle. I chose the 1st Class, with a certain comfort but also to give me the opportunity to meet people, and maybe to discuss.
Frankly, it's classy. The carriages are clean, there is nothing to say. Yes, the food. Not great at the train restaurant. But it is possible to have it delivered from a restaurant among the stops. You indicate your place and you are "almost" delivered to your home.
I booked my train trip via the link given in the "useful links" section. I took the "High Speed G" fast train. During the day, you have 3 classes available: 2nd class, 1st class and Business.
