Dives in Guadeloupe, May 2016
Magnificent dives. Do not miss the Aquarium in Bouillante, diving in the Cousteau reserve.
Without exceeding 15m (49ft), it's magnificent. Le Sec Paté is also to be done or Malendure, Pointe Mahault. The spots are numerous... In addition, diving in water at 26°C (78.8°F) is a real pleasure. So go ahead and have fun.

Pointe Plate: A field of multicolored sponges, of all kinds a first small arch, and in the background, the intense blue of the open sea.
L'avion (22m/72ft): This small agricultural plane, a CESSNA 188, was used in its first life for the spreading of pesticides on banana plantations. Following an accident, it could not be repaired. It was submerged after depollution in 2000. Sponges, sea squirts, corals settled there. The wreck also serves as a shelter for angelfish, butterflyfish and lionfish.
L'aquarium (0-20m/0-65ft maxi): A life teeming in the heart of the Cousteau Reserve, you will see many sea breams, turtles (if you are lucky) and gorgonians as well as splendid tubular sponges.
La Pointe Mahault (6-25m/0-78ft) : The La Pointe Mahault dive spot is located in the Cousteau reserve, Pointe Mahault is a small dry area and a succession of rocky scree, coral potatoes are very numerous on the spot.
Franjack (24m/78ft): Originally named Oresund, built in Denmark in 1958, this approximately 50m (164ft) hour-glass cargo ship first sailed in Copenhagen in Denmark then near La Rochelle in the 1970s. Bought by a company from Gosier in 1983, it underwent, like so many others the passage of Hurricane Hugo in 1989, after a few years of navigation in the Caribbean. It will finally be cleaned up and sunk as an artificial reef in 1996 off Malendure in Bouillante. It now lies flat on its keel on a sandy bottom. A beautiful wreck with lots of life around. Keep your eyes open because you don't always see the fish hiding on the pontoons. The interior is also magnificent.
Mazarin (12-24m/39-88ft): A real Japanese garden! You will be able to observe turtles or barracudas if you are lucky. It is possible to meet "Madame leopard ray" there.
Sec Pâté (15-180m/49-590ft) : The site not to be missed. The Sec Pâté is a "mountain" under the sea which rises from a depth of about 180m. Its summit is made up of 3 rocky peaks. The dive usually takes place between 20m (65ft) and 40m (131ft) deep. Clear water, exceptional fauna, corals and gorgonians galore, barracudas, turtles, angel fish, lobsters, ...
Les Ancres : A very beautiful spot characterized by many caves or arches. I love this type of spot because there is not only life to observe but also the atmosphere and the view.

Antidote Plongée in Port-Louis: The team is really very friendly and are keen to please. For example, we asked to do a night dive (more like dusk in these latitudes) and it was organized very quickly. Joëlle and Jean-Michel will be keen to make you happy.
Bleu Passion Guadeloupe in Bouillante: A nice team at the time but, it seems to me, that the owners have changed.
Inspiration Plongée with Jean-Philippe Du Fayet De La Tour: Monsieur Jean-Philippe, a character to meet. The dive ends with a small glass of rum. And be careful, Nemo Wide computers are forbidden on his boat...
