Diving cruise in the Red Sea, Egypt, December 2015
Very nice dives in Egypt. This cruise is an excellent memory and I discovered great friends like Kiko or Yan.
I hope to go back but on a stay, not on a cruise. I hope to see more beautiful things.

Small Giftun (20-25m/65-82ft) : Giftun Small is a drift dive. At this depth, you will see beautiful fan corals. The walls are adorned with gorgons and end in a 25m (82ft) deep plateau.
Le Carnatic (15-22m/49-72ft): The Carnatic was a merchant ship of the Peninsular & Oriental Steamship Navigation launched in 1862 at Cubitt Town, near London. The ship, 90 m long, transporting goods and passengers, was of mixed propulsion (sailing and steam) and had a cruising speed of 12 knots. On September 13, 1869, shortly after 1 a.m., in a light northerly wind, the Carnatic struck the reef of Sha'ab abu Nuhâs in the Red Sea and sank with 230 passengers and crew on board. 27 passengers and crew will die there, the others having been able to reach Shadwan Island with three rowboats. The wreck was rediscovered after 1978. But the identification could only be made following research carried out by Italians and based on clues of naval architecture, pieces of crockery and oval bottles of " soda water" found in the holds.
Shark and Yolanda Reef (10-22m/33-72ft): Shark Reef and Yolanda represent two huge coral potatoes, which can be circumvented, to end up on a sandy area of about fifteen meters deep. We will observe in particular the remains of the wreck of the Yolanda, part of the load of which remained at the top of the drop-off, the wreck ended up in the abyss. In particular, there are many toilet bowls that attract divers for "out of the ordinary" underwater photos... sitting on the bowl of course! But also moray eels hiding there.
Thieslengorm (16-32m/52-105ft): The wreck of the SS Thistlegorm is one of the best diving spots in the world. It is in fact considered by many to be THE best wreck dive in the world! The SS Thistlegorm is a WWII shipwreck located in the northern Red Sea in the Strait of Gubal. She is a 128m long ex-British transport boat sunk in 1941 after a German air raid. There are two locomotives, two tanks, army trucks, jeeps, motorbikes, boots, piles of guns and spare parts of planes and cars. It's like diving into a historic place!
Panorama Rift South (25m/82ft): A drift dive in weightlessness above above magnificent gorgonians and beautiful tables of acropora. Keep an eye in the blue: trevally, tuna, barracuda are very often present. You will also probably enjoy meeting Panorama's "concierge", a respectable and very curious napoleon who can't help but mingle with the divers !

It was my first cruise, a discovery for me. This cruise was organized for and with some people from a Facebook group, on which I was registered. We just had dinner almost all together once before the cruise.
Our cruise did not take place in the planned boat due to small technical problems. Ours was not recent and required some repairs including a lack of hot water at the beginning. In the end, this first cruise went well all the same. The meals were good with lots of vegetables, quite balanced meals in short. In the evening, everyone gathered to discuss the day's dives, exchange impressions or admire the photos.
