I wasn't able to visit the Temple of Confucius and the Temple of Heaven because they are closed on Mondays. Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to come back.
The Forbidden City and the Summer Palace are huge sights to see, but it's worth the effort of the walk, it's too beautiful and with the people in period costume, it makes the sites even more wonderful. I'll leave you to open the Wiki links to find out more about the history of these emblematic sites.
Tian'anmen Place was too crowded, with at least a 3-hour queue to get to Mao Tse Tung's mausoleum. Let's stay positive, though, as this allowed me to go to the Forbidden City.
