The Transports, Praha, Czech Republic, June 2023
Transports are really numerous and different. With the Vltava, people travel by boat, of all shapes...

The tram network is very dense with a relatively low price for us French. It allows you to go almost everywhere, with additional buses but also the metro. The tram lines are so numerous that they cross and there are flashing lights on the trains to indicate changes of direction, a rather surprising fact compared to Paris.
The metro is also splendid and, compared to Paris, very clean... I also took the funicular to descend from Petrín hill. I didn't use the buses.
I also chose to take Tramway 42, there is also 41. These are tourist trams passing near monuments. These trams are historic with trains from different eras (Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, Austro-Hungarian Empire, First Czechoslovak Republic, an American design). Frankly, it's worth it. The price is less than EUR13, valid all day and allows you to take either line.

The first omnibuses appeared in 1875, with 20km (12.42mi) in 1988. The electrification of the network arrived in 1891 during the Universal Exhibition in Prague. This marks in 1902, the end of the omnibus. After stopping during the war, the network intensified until 1960, when the metro building started up.
The metro was designed from 1898 but finally the work began in 1939 then stopped with the war; Finally, work resumed in 1967 and the 1st line was completed in 1980. Today, there are 3 lines which are distinguished by the color of the corridors.
